B777 cashback: getting part of your losses back, without the spin

Cashback returns a percentage of what you lost over a period. It is the easiest promotion to understand and also the one that varies most between casinos: daily or weekly, paid as cash or as bonus, based on net losses or on bets. This page lists the questions to ask any loss cashback or insurance bonus before you count on it.

How loss cashback works

The operator looks at a period, calculates your losses by its own definition and returns a percentage, normally with a cap. Illustrative example, not a B777 condition: weekly cashback of 10% on net losses, capped at $100.

WeekDeposits − (withdrawals + end balance)Net lossCashback (10%)
A$200 − $80$120$12
B$100 − $140— (a win)$0
C$1,500 − $200$1,300$100 (cap)

Week C shows the cap at work: the effective rate drops below 8%. In any case cashback returns a fraction of what was lost; it never makes it whole.

Cash or bonus money: the key question

Cashback paid as cash can be withdrawn at once. Cashback paid as a bonus comes with its own wagering, deadline and max bet — it behaves like any other promotion described in bonus terms. Between 10% with no wagering and 15% with 20x wagering, the first is usually worth more.

Weekly, daily and insurance-style offers

Which play counts

As with bonuses, some categories may be left out of the loss calculation, and money played while a bonus is active often does not count. If you combine a reload with cashback in the same week, part of your losses may not qualify. Read both sets of terms before activating both.

An honest warning

Cashback is useful as a cushion for players who already stick to a fixed budget. It is not a reason to play more, nor a safety net for chasing losses — chasing is exactly the pattern that does the most harm. If you notice you are waiting for cashback in order to deposit again, look at the tools on our responsible gambling page.

Cashback FAQ

Is cashback paid as real money?
It depends on the offer. Some cashback lands as cash you can withdraw immediately; some lands as bonus money with its own wagering. That is the most important difference between two offers that look the same, so look for it in the promotion's terms.
How are net losses calculated?
Usually as deposits minus withdrawals and remaining balance over the period, or as bets minus winnings on qualifying games. Each operator uses its own definition and may exclude money played with a bonus, so check which one applies before you rely on it.
Is daily cashback better than weekly cashback?
Not necessarily. Daily cashback pays sooner but often with a lower rate or cap; weekly cashback offsets good days against bad ones and may pay nothing after a winning week. What matters most is whether the cashback carries wagering.
